I wrote this poem for my first grandson, just to let him know how much I love him and what a joy and major life event his birth was for me.  It made me my new favorite title, Nana.

The first moment I saw
your face I was in love.
I remember rounding the
corner of the hospital
room and peering at that
little face.
smudged from
entering the world.
A little miracle
making his first
appearance in our
lives…changing it
forever,
capturing our hearts.
A little guy made
from our youngest
child, that we made
so many moons ago.
Seems like yesterday
he entered our world
and here he is, having
a little one of his own.
Everyone says
their baby is the cutest,
but your were truly
the most beautiful newborn
I have ever seen.
Your innocence, softness
and newness
melt my heart,
you are so loved and
so wanted.
Every time I brag about you to
all my friends who will
listen within ear shot.
This soft new person,
who entered my life,
stole my heart away,
and I know now that
I will never get it back!
